The AW36518E is a LED flash driver that provides a high level of adjustability within a small solution size. The AW36518E utilizes a 2MHz or 4MHz fixed-frequency synchronous boost converter to provide power to the 1.5A constant current LED sources. The 256 levels current sources provide the flexibility to adjust the current of LED in Flash/Torch/IR modes. The AW36518E provides IVFM protection to prevent system reset or shutdown under low battery condition.
The AW36518E is controlled via an I2C - compatible interface. The main features of the AW36518E include: flash/torch current, flash timeout duration, IVFM and TX interrupt. The AW36518E also provides hardware flash/torch pin (STROBE/ TORCH) to control Flash/Torch events.
The 2MHz or 4MHz switching frequency options, overvoltage protection (OVP), and adjustable current limit allow for the use of tiny, low-profile inductors and 10-μF ceramic capacitors. The device operates over a -40°C to +85°C ambient temperature range.
The AW36518E is available in small 0.4mm pitch FCQFN 1.6mm×1.2mm×0.55mm -10L package.
